MadeiraFish app for iPhone and iPad

The aim of this app is to provide detailed information on commercial marine species of Madeira, including fishes, crustaceans, and molluscs.

It features a short description of each species, its biology and habitat, seasonality and conservation status, as well as gastronomic and nutritional information. Common names are also provided in several languages (DE/DK/EN/ES/FI/FR/NL/PT/RU).

Information was collected from the scientific literature, FishBase, SeaLifeBase, FAO species identification guides, and Direcção Regional de Pescas of Madeira, among other sources. A complete bibliography is provided. Current scientific names of species and classification followed the World Register of Marine Species (WoRMS).
